Mezzo Labs supports MeasureCamp VIII, Posted by Future Event in
Mezzo Labs were proud sponsors of MeasureCamp VIII – an open, free-to-attend “un-conference” for those interested in web analytics. Everyone is encouraged to participate in sessions, exchange ideas, and have discussions.
The event on March 5, 2016, was a great success and all sessions packed with over 300 eager participants.
Mezzo Labs ran two innovative sessions and launched a competition, which you can enter below.
Alex and Sid took a session at the event…
Virtual Reality analytics: The next big thing
Alex’s session at MeasureCamp VIII looked at the opportunities that virtual reality headsets bring to our industry.
The session explored various examples of real life projects, including an account by Dominic McGlynn of a VR experience at London’s National History Museum.
Everyone agreed to set up a new VR Working Group to explore how we track and get insights from these applications in commercial sectors.
To be continued at the next MeasureCamp!
KPI business requirements
Sid’s session at MeasureCamp VIII looked at KPI business requirements. The session explored analytics frameworks to understand business requirements and mapping digital objectives to analytics.
The Mezzo Labs room was filled with agency and client participants all eager to discuss frameworks and measurement models.
Industry challenges and concerns were raised and shared by all. These included stakeholders focusing on MI and not KPI’s, the industry struggling to get past the RACE model, and vanity metrics playing a key role in reporting.
On a more positive note, as an industry, not everything revolves around forecasts and targets. Although, this is changing with advertising agencies and optimisation projects. The take-out from MeasureCamp is that there is a great appetite for discussing strategies and business needs in the industry.
The feedback for the session was excellent, rated one of the top three sessions, it proved very popular!
Sid is looking forward to the next MeasureCamp.
The closing date for entries is midnight on Friday 11th March 2016.
